[SCADASEC] Fw: [SCADA SECURITY] Upcomming SCADA Training Courses

I'm very hopeful of the INL training. I know there have been some good
people working on it. Out of all the SCADA security training that has been
out there, the course at Infosec Institute (Dale Peterson developed it) has
been about the best but I don't think he got to do everything he wanted with
it due to restrictions by Infosec Institute. It was a little light in some
technical detail.

It seems that most of the SCADA courses out there right now are mostly just
standard "best practices" thrown on top of a SCADA overview. Back when I
was with the Critical Infrastructure Institute, the technical course had
potential but I was over-ruled in it's direction and has, since, become yet
another 30,000 foot view IMHO.

I guess it really boils down to what you are looking for. If all you need
are the latest best practices and standards, then there are a few courses
out there that will do fine (Infosec, CII, SANS, etc.). However, if you are
looking for more detail then we are still waiting. Like I said, I am very
hopeful about the INL training. I will probably put something together next
year, after the release of my book, if nothing more technical has come out.
